I guess you know about it already, otherwise I will be tempted to ask where you’ve been in the last few 7 days or so.
The truth is, I can’t wait. The opportunities are begging.
However, another fantastic innovation from our creative factory will hit towm May 3, 2008 also. It will actually happen earlier than the launching of my mentorship forum. It is the second year session of our teaching/tutorial programme called School of Estate.
We are having preparatory classes for NIESV students writting Professional Qualifying Exams (PQE) 1-3 and alongside the first of the 2 batches of our 12 Saturday session for budding real estate entreprenuers will also kick-off same day.
The great news is that we are doing all these in partnership with one of my mentors and a respected real estate professional home and abroad – Mr. Akin Olawore.

The COST of ignorance, perhaps can best underscore the VALUE of quality education.
Real Estate is an economic commodity which touches the life of every living being on earth and it is readily the most sought, the best guarded and the most sensitive possession, whether as a consumer or a developer.
There is therefore a need for proper Training in the harnessing of the great potentials of the economic commodity – LAND.
It is against this backdrop, that
SCHOOL OF
ESTATE was set up, to bring up a new generation of well trained and attuned operators in the Real Estate Industry.
THE SCHOOL:
The school was established to provide a forum for the training and continuing education of Estate Management students, practitioners and intending practitioners as well as the beneficiaries of their services, Real Estate scholars and all participants in the Real Estate Industry, in the theory and practice of Estate Management, it’s derivatives and applications.
To achieve the above objectives, the Institute runs two basic programmes,
I. Student Education Programme (SEP)
II. Specialised Idea Exchange Programme (SIEP)
SEP basically operates two programmes as follows:
a. ENTREPRENEUR CLASS (EC) Course sessions to enable participants practice Estate Management at a very professional level. This class is opened to all estate management/agency practitioners and intending ones with or without formal education. This class is designed to take you away from quackery.
b. Professional Qualifying Exam (PQE) Course sessions is geared towards the Professional Examinations of the Nigerian Institute of Estate Surveyors and Valuers (N.I.E.S.V), for all levels.
Considering this as an innovation which is set to improve the quality of lectures and pass rate in NIESV Examination, the primary objectives of this special programme among others include:1 To prepare students who will be able to pass NIESV Exams at their first attempt2 To create the best conducive learning environment for NIESV students3 To assist students to discover their learning for NIESV examinations.
SIEP: designs Training Programmes and organises Professional Seminars, Workshops and Programmes principally for Government Agencies, Parastatals, Real Estate Practitioners and other categories of people in the Real Estate Industry.

Proj Man.) FNIVS, RSV, MNIM, MAPM.is the Director of Studies at the SCHOOL. He is the proprietor of REALTORS INSTITUTE (Government Approved).
Akin Olawore is a professional and highly Skilled Development Consultant and Project Manager. He has vast experience in estate management having worked and served in different capacities of his career. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Estate Management from the
University of
Ife
(
Now Obafemi Awolowo University), a course in which he graduated as the Best Overall Student in his set. He also holds a postgraduate diploma in Project Management from the
College of
Estate Management,
University of Reading UK. He has earned several other qualifications which further lend credence to his proficiency in this profession. He is a past National Secretary of Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers (NIEVS) and past chairman of the Lagos State Branch; an external examiner to Estate Management Diploma courses of Yaba College of Technology, in
Lagos. GBADEBO OLUJARE ADEJANA B.Engr, MBA (Marketing), ANIM is the Registrar at the SCHOOL. He is the Managing Director/C.E.O of REALTY POINT LIMITED publishers of Prime Assets Magazine and the host of REAL ESTATE PROFESSIONAL’S SEMINARS.
Gbadebo Adejana, holder of Bachelors in Engineering and a Masters in Business Administration (Marketing) degrees. He is the Managing Director and Chief Executive of REALTY POINT LIMITED. A meritorious service award winner who resigned from the banking industry in July 2004 after a career spanning 8 years, 5 of which was spent in middle management capacities. He is an associate member of Nigerian Institute of Management (Chartered).
He left his last place of work as a Profit Centre Manager (PCM) in charge of Real Estate, I.T, Manufacturers and Merchants.
Debo is a well sought after lecturer, speaker and seminar facilitator, an accomplished columnist, author and publisher.
A visionary and an astute real estate entrepreneur/investment administrator, he is on the board of other profit and not-for-profit organisations.

Facilities:Each classroom is fitted with good ventilation apparatus and equipment. It is well furnished with standard classroom chairs, magic boards / flip boards.

We constantly update our library as a means to a complete total learning package of the school.
Duration:
The programme is a weekend programme for now.
Saturday 8.00am – 5.30pm and Sunday 2.30pm – 5.30pm. Lectures on Environmental sanitation Saturdays will be from 12.00 noon – 4.30pm
THE PERSONNEL
The Institute has on its payroll seasoned professionals in private practice and the Academia who are highly vast in their various disciplines of specialisation. The Registrar supervises the administrative staff who co-ordinates and collates lecture materials and logistics including accommodation and refreshments where applicable.
Extra curriculum:
Our experience shows that some students who fail exams do so not because they are not brilliant but because they don’t have confidence in themselves; therefore, counselling, seminars and workshops will be arranged intermittently during the duration of the programme.

Hello Tinu, thanks for the encouraging comment. The programme cost a total of N42,500. N40K for tuition and N2.5K for registration. The first session this year began today Saturday Feb. 7, 2009 and the next batch comes up May 2009. You can still join the present class till th e3rd weekedn when we shall not be taking any student again.

Hello Shadrach, you are on the right path. I will suggest you do tow more things and here they are:
1) Get a mentor. Locate an established person within your area of interest in the real estate field and get yourself attached to him and his firm for hands-on tutelage.
2) Sign up for the mls work tool Mr. Alex is taking you on.
